Grossmont Middle College High School is honored to be named a California Distinguished School for 2009. This is the first time that three Grossmont Union High Schools (Grossmont High School, Helix Charter High School, and Grossmont Middle College High School) have been recognized by the state of California for outstanding academic achievement.

Grossmont Middle College High School (GMCHS), a WASC-accredited alternative high school, is an option available to 11th and 12th grade students who have the opportunity to complete graduation requirements while simultaneously earning college credits on the Grossmont College campus.
