Faculty and Staff

The founding instructor and English teacher, Cathy Zemlick, is a veteran teacher with over 30 years of experience. She has taught all levels, from Advanced Placement through remedial, and seniors through freshmen, as well as special preparatory courses for the SAT I test. She has a Life Teaching Credential in English, a Reading Specialist Credential, and a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from SDSU.

Vincent Legg teaches U.S. History, Economics, and Government. He has taught a variety of grades and levels, including GATE and AP, in traditional high school settings. A graduate of Grossmont College, he earned a BA in philosophy from UC Berkley. He is sensitive to the social dynamics that can lead some students to be uncomfortable and under-perform on a traditional high school campus.

The school secretary, Sue Halvin, wears many hats! In addition to serving as administrative assistant, registrar, GIS, attendance and health clerk, she orchestrates GMCHS activities and the fundraisers that make them possible. She keeps track of most everyone and everything and is the first impression for most of our middle college.
