U.S. History and Geography 1H/2H is a two-semester course with instruction of U.S. History in the 20th century designed for the academically talented 11th grade student. Students are encouraged to develop critical thinking skills such as hypothesis formation, data gathering, and analytical questioning. In addition, students are also expected to pursue specialized areas of study designed to give them depth and perspective and to enhance their understanding, appreciation, and sense of responsibility to the values of the American way of life. The course utilizes varied textual and resource materials exposing the students to many different interpretations and hypotheses of American history.
This course meets the University of California "a" and "g" requirements.
